From Fortune 500 to the Rockies

Chris Cowart
Founder & Principal Architect
I spent 20 years as the glue between business operations and engineering teams at places like Mastercard and Jabil — architecting global systems, building data pipelines, and leading the kind of cross-functional work that keeps large-scale platforms running.
When my family moved to 35 acres in Huerfano County, I started Walsenburg Tech as an experiment: could I build enterprise-grade infrastructure on bare metal, run agentic AI systems at scale, and do it all without the corporate overhead? The answer was yes.
Now I build in the open — sovereign stacks on Hetzner, KYB verification engines processing thousands of companies a day, fraud detection models, and the infrastructure that ties it all together. The code is public. The blog shows the real work.
"I build the systems I write about, and I write about the systems I build. Enterprise patterns at startup speed, with the code to prove it."
Let's build something.
Have an architecture problem, an automation idea, or just want to talk engineering — I'm always up for it.
